We try a new place this week when we took a rather long walk up to Coggings & Co to try one of their gourmet burgers. The 6oz Pulled Beef Shin burger. We usually only have an hour so was the 20 minute walk there and back worth it for us?

Not unlike our other reviews we went on a Monday just after noon so when we arrived at Coggings & Co. we were not surprised to find it completely empty. We love this obviously not just because we can take great pictures when nobody’s around but because we can have some peace and quiet while we chat and wait for the burgers to arrive.

After we got our score and leaderboard predictions out of the way our burgers were put in front of us and first impressions were good. “6oz beef, pulled beef shin, pale ale braised onions, barbeque sauce and salad”. They were some of the best presented burgers we had seen and they weren’t falling apart when they arrived like a lot of the burgers we review. Check out the full menu here.

You can get the 6oz Pulled Beef Shin burger and chips for £11.95 which is not bad considering what you get. The restaurant is big with nice tables and large photos from local photographers. We particularly liked the industrial interior design here.

We gave the burger a score out of 10 in 5 categories which are: Juiciness, Bun, Flavour, Stability and Value for Money. The burger was great tasting, held together well and what you expected to stand out did. As for a few things we think could be improved, the bun was a bit dry and it kinda held the whole burger back a bit. Toasted buns are great but when they are left under the grill a bit too long it only hinders the overall texture of the burger.

Overall, we liked the 6oz Pulled Beef Shin burger but nothing was fantastic and the burger had left our thoughts by the time we had left the building. We hope that this post can tantalize your taste buds and if you give the burger a try please comment to let us know what you thought about it.
