Until recently, web designers would bend over backwards to cram everything important above the fold in an attempt to play all their cards a quickly as possible before people lost interest.
Now that web design has become more advanced people are spending more time on websites and therefore slowly making the fold irrelevant. Now it’s normal to have a long scrolling homepage with important content all the way down. This is definitely going to be the case with websites that tell a story on scroll, or a homepage with a large header image.
