Burgers
IN BRIGHTON & HOVE
As we eat out for lunch so much, we’ve decided to rate the various lunch-time burgers on offer around our office. You can find where we have been, what we have eaten and what we thought about them.
Every week we review a gourmet burger in Brighton and Hove.
All the burgers below were reviewed by the team and given a score out of 10 in 5 categories which are: Juiciness, Bun, Flavour, Stability and Value for Money coming to an average overall score out of 50. We hope that these can be helpful to burger lovers in or around Brighton & Hove and if you have a good suggestion for a burger you want us to try out send us an email: lewis@tcmarketing.co.uk
Dragonfire Mountain
Trollburger
18.5.2018
After nine months of searching for Brighton’s best burger, we finally get to our most anticipated review; Trollburger. After all the praise we’ve heard, did it live up to our high expectations?
Smokey Robinson
Patty & Bun
4.5.2018
Patty&Bun on Ship St Brighton. We go to see if Brighton’s newest burger venue can compete with the other main players. Does the Smokey Robinson burger land in our top 10? This was our first trip to Patty&Bun and we hadn’t seen or read any reviews so we had no idea what to expect.
Wagyu Smokestack
Brighton Burger
16.2.2018
We pay Brighton Burger a visit to see what gourmet gold they have to offer. After looking through the menu there was no doubt in our minds that the Smokestack was the best choice for us. Wagyu beef topped with smoked pork, smoked cheddar & onion rings, sat on raspberry jam, onions and chilli peanut spread.
Pulled Beef Brisket Burger
Stock Burger Co.
20.12.2017
Last time we visited Stockburger Co. we were impressed but what we reviewed may not have been the best choice. It’s time to find out if the best parts of the El Toro are consistent with Stockburger’s Beef Brisket Burger.
Stilton Stack
Smashburger
15.12.2017
We had visited Smashburger long before we threw our health and body weight to the wind, so we were eager to see if it would live up to what we remember. Turns out what we remember was about right. Smashburger is better than most chains but like most chains sadly can’t quite compete with independent gourmet burgers.
Triple-B
7Bone Burger Co.
23.10.2017
We visit 7Bone Burger Co. in Hove on opening day to see what all the fuss is about. We left with full stomachs having been served the best beef patties we have had since we started writing our reviews. The triple-b blew most of the burgers we have tried out of the water and you should go there and see why for yourselves.
Pulled Beef Shin
Coggins & Co
17.10.2017
We try a new place this week when we took a rather long walk up to Coggings & Co to try one of their gourmet burgers. The 6oz Pulled Beef Shin burger. We usually only have an hour so was the 20 minute walk there and back worth it for us?
The Satay Night Fever
The Bok Shop
16.10.2017
We finally decided to include some chicken burgers on our leaderboard so we headed to The Bok Shop which we spotted from the windows of The East Street Tap. We wanted to know if chicken could really compare to beef in gourmet burgers, so surely a restaurant that specialises in chicken would be a great place to find out.
Flame Grilled Burger
Croustillant D @ Seven Stars
9.10.2017
We set out for Seven Stars not really knowing much about Croustillant D and they only had one fixed burger on their menu; the 8oz flame grilled burger. The meal we received exceeded our expectations. We do have a few gripes but the burger and sides as a whole might be one of the best lunches in brighton under £11.
The Silent Bob
Sidekick Kitchen @ The Mash Tun
4.10.2017
This week we were invited by the awesome and talented team at The Mash Tun to come and review a SideKick Kitchen burger of our choice! We were super psyched to try the Silent Bob, and we had been given a golden opportunity. So where does the monster that is the Silent Bob appear on our leaderboard?
Gecko
Burger Kult @ East Street Tap
25.9.2017
Once again we end up in East Street Tap after The Bok Shop was closed and we were eager to try another burger after the award worthy Death Jam. After much consideration we landed on the tasty sounding Gecko burger. We find out if Burger Kult will be consistently high scoring. Spoiler Alert...it will.
Malaysian
Grubbs Burgers
20.9.2017
As you may know, eating a burger every week is not the healthiest way to blog, but on a rainy Tuesday not more than a day since we last reviewed a burger, we devour a greasy Grubbs Malaysian all in the search for Brighton's best. You’re welcome.
